Your information, explained

Privacy & cookies.

This notice explains what happens to the information you share through this website.

1. Who is responsible

OmnioTek is responsible for the information collected through this website. Please use the contact page for a privacy question or request.

You can also email info@consuktantak.com.

2. Information collected

When you send an enquiry, the information you provide may include your name, email address, telephone number, the service you need, whether you are a home or business customer, your postcode and your message.

A postcode is requested for an on-site enquiry so we can discuss whether a visit is suitable. A telephone number is optional. Please keep your initial message to the information needed to explain your request.

If you become a customer, service records may also include your billing address, job details, work dates and times, diagnosis results, work reports, recommendations, follow-ups, quotations, invoices, receipts and payment references. The site also processes limited technical information to operate securely, including connection information used to restrict repeated or automated submissions.

3. Why the information is used

Enquiry and service information is used to respond to your request, discuss your requirements, prepare quotations, arrange and record work, issue invoices and receipts, and reconcile payments for the service you ask for.

Where you request a quotation or service, this processing is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, or to perform the agreed contract. General correspondence and proportionate website security measures are handled for the legitimate interests of responding to enquiries and protecting the service from abuse.

Your enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing list. It is not used for automated decisions about you.

4. Sharing and retention

For paid support, your contact details and request are held in a private pending checkout record while payment is completed. They enter the submitted request system only after payment is confirmed. General project enquiries are stored when sent. An email notification is sent to the business when delivery is available. Authorised staff use these records to manage your enquiry and any agreed work. The hosting and email providers involved in operating the service may process the information for those purposes.

Pending checkout records are kept so delayed payment confirmations can be reconciled and a paid request is not lost. They are included in retention reviews; an expired checkout does not itself erase the record. Service records and copies received by email are retained for the time needed to answer the enquiry, deliver agreed work, resolve queries and maintain necessary business and accounting records. Retention is reviewed according to the type of record and applicable obligations. You can contact us for the retention arrangements that apply to your information.

If you choose online payment, you are redirected to Stripe’s hosted checkout. Your email, a request or invoice reference, and the amount are supplied to Stripe to process the payment. Stripe also collects the billing details needed for an invoice; a billing address is kept separately from a requested visit postcode. Payment card details are entered directly with Stripe; this website does not receive or store your full card number or security code. We retain the payment status and transaction reference. Read Stripe’s privacy policy for its handling of payment information.

Request payment status, quotations, invoices, receipts and published job reports can be opened through a private link sent to you. Published report links identify a specific version, so a later edit does not change a report already supplied. Anyone with that link can view the document, so please keep it private. You can ask for information about the providers used and where your information is processed.

5. Cookies, analytics and security

This website does not include advertising cookies, marketing trackers or visitor analytics. A strictly necessary session cookie is used when an administrator signs in. It expires after 12 hours or is removed on sign-out. Customers can use their private document link without creating an account. Stripe’s checkout uses its own payment and security technologies, described in its privacy and cookie information.

To limit spam, the application temporarily keeps a protected identifier derived from a connection’s IP address, together with submission counts. Rate-limit windows last 15 minutes. Expired records are cleared within the following minute during normal operation, or sooner on the next enquiry. Restarting the application also clears these records. They are not used to track your browsing or create a marketing profile.

Administrator sign-in attempts are rate-limited using protected connection and account identifiers. Expired limits are removed during subsequent sign-in activity. Authorised administration actions have an audit record. The hosting infrastructure may also process operational and security logs. Any additional analytics or tracking introduced in the future should be reflected in this notice and, where required, a suitable consent choice.

6. Your rights and questions

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, object to certain processing, or receive a portable copy. Some requests are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

Please contact OmnioTek to make a request or raise a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. You can find information at ico.org.uk .
